Born on December 3, 1941, in Gallinas, New Mexico, Isabel lived a life marked by dedication, strength, and a profound love for her family.
She graduated from West Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, New Mexico, before embarking on a career as a nurse's aide. Her journey later led her to Nevada, where she built a career in the casino industry, working in the cashier cages at the Mint, the Flamingo, and eventually the Marina until its closure. Isabel also dedicated time at a senior living facility in Boulder City and ultimately served in the custodial division of St. Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson, where she later retired.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Isabel embodied patience, unselfishness, and love.
Known for her routines, she relished her breakfasts of eggs, toast, and coffee with evaporated milk, enjoyed playing her hand-held video poker game, and frequented Henderson casinos to try her luck at the slots. Her home was filled with cherished knickknacks given by her grandchildren, and she found comfort in her Spanish soap operas and music played on her treasured vinyl record player. Her love for cranberry juice and Sunny D was a small reflection of her simple joys in life.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, Florentino Sandoval and Ignacita (Garcia) Sandoval, as well as her brother, Archie Sandoval.
She is survived by her siblings Frances Sandoval, Manuel Sandoval, Theresa Maestas, Dolores Chavez, and Cookie Walker; her children Kathy Del Toro and Randy Sandoval; her eight grandchildren Benji Sandoval, Joseph Del Toro (Omar), Mando Del Toro (Jessica), Fernando Del Toro (Kelcie), Michael Del Toro (Diana), Randy Sandoval Jr., Marissa Salas, and Nadia Sandoval; and her fourteen great-grandchildren.
Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and honor her memory in a service to be held. Isabel Sandoval will be remembered as a pillar of strength and love who left a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
