James Wayne Reed

“Jim” 86, of Henderson Nevada passed away at his home after a short battle with cancer.

Jim was born on January 10, 1937, in Joplin Missouri to Floyd and Dorothy Jackson.

Jim graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955. He continued his education at California State University Dominguez Hills, graduating with Bachelor degrees in Behavioral Science, Economics, and Real Estate.

In 1964 Jim and his young family moved to Los Angeles California. He went to work at the Los Angeles Harbor Department as a Drafting Tech in the Engineering Department. As a broker licensed in 5 states, Jim owned and operated his own successful real estate company for many years.

In 1956 he met his first wife Elva Reiff in Cincinnati Ohio. In 1962 Jim and Elva had one child, James Bradley Reed. Jim was happily remarried to his current wife Maria of 33.

In retirement Jim spent time with family, traveling, and reading. He especially loved to dance.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, natural father Floyd, and stepfather Harvey Reed.

He is survived by wife Maria, son Brad, grandchildren Emily, Cole, and Adam Reed of Gilbert Arizona. Brother Lawrence Reed and sister Sharon Napier, both of Cincinnati Ohio. Jim had many nieces and nephews from Cincinnati Ohio and many from as far as the Philippine Islands.

Services to be held Monday November 13, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Peters Catholic Church followed by burial and celebration of life at Palm Mortuary 800 Boulder Highway in Henderson Nevada
