Joanne E Giles

Joanne was born on June 17, 1943 in Highland Park, Michigan, Wayne County.

She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She met Kenneth R Giles and they married on February 19, 1966. They spent 55 wonderful years together.

Joanne worked in the legal and education fields. She worked in a legal office as a legal secretary and had her own secretarial business. She also worked as a school office secretary in the Clark County School District over 15 years.

Joanne was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years. She was active in both Las Vegas and Henderson.

She had a passion for researching her ancestry and was a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. She enjoyed cross stitching, holiday baking, party planning and was an avid reader. She and Ken attended social events and they went to weekly lunches with fellow retirees. They were also charter members of Community Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by husband Kenneth R Giles, mother Mary (Kahm) Meyer and father Clarence H Meyer.

She is survived by sister Marilyn Exley, son Robert Giles, his wife Jan Giles, grandson Patrick Giles, daughter Catherine Giles and grandson Tyler Giles.

Services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 10:00am at Palm Mortuary, 800 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015.

A private interment will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City
