John Scott Viner, 80 passed away Monday, March 30, 2026. He was born August 24, 1945, to Eugene and Pearl Viner in St. Louis, Missouri.
He served in the United States Army more than 21 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then served his country in Civil Service for almost 10 more years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by sister Carolyn and nephew John. He is survived by his wife Johanna, whom he called “Klompie” and nieces Linda Hasty and Hesper O’Brien. Rest in Peace, dear JV. You will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers we would suggest that donations be made to Alzheimer’s research.
Services will be at 11:20am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, Henderson, NV.
