Kathy "MiMi" D. LaMotte

Kathy "MiMi" D. LaMotte, 75, of Las Vegas, passed away on February 13, 2026. She was born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee to John W. Whitaker and Mary E. Whitaker (Bowers).

Kathy joined the US Army right after high school, where she met and married her husband, Norvin W. LaMotte Jr. who preceded her in death. She was Honorably Discharged and became a Department of Defense federal employee as a Program Analyst. After 22 years of service, she retired and became a full-time grandmother and was forever known as “MiMi” to family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Regina; son, Norvin III “Turtle”; and four grandchildren: Brianna, Tayler, Marcus, and Evan.

MiMi devoted her entire life to selflessly caring for others, always making sure everyone had everything they needed.

A visitation will be held at Palm Henderson Mortuary, located at 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV, 89015, on February 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Military Honors Service and Burial will take place at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV, 89005, on March 13, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM.
