Kevin Raymond Pothier, age 59, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2023, which was also his Birthday. He leaves behind Barbara (Mother), Sharon (Sister), Robert (Brother) and his Darling Little Nicci along with many that he would consider family.
Kevin was a community builder and a mentor to many. He was born in Massachusetts, but truly grew up in New Hampshire. He enjoyed a quaint small-town childhood. Becoming a young adult, he started his career in costuming for the theatre. He found success early with designing for regional theatres in his early 20’s.
Credits include Annie, Anything Goes, Nine, and many others. Eventually he made the next step in his journey to New York where he found the fast pace and hustle and bustle of the city intoxicating.
Kevin worked in many costume houses and took in the theatre every weekend with standing room only tickets. His passion for live theatre and musicals lived in him his whole life. His next step was the big move to Las Vegas. He came with mounting of Starlight Express. The show was to take residency at the Las Vegas Hilton. He made Las Vegas his home in no time.
Kevin started meeting and making his community. He grew a family that would love him unconditionally. He was the first to help, the first to volunteer and the first to stand with you in times of hardship. Kevin finished his career with Cirque Du Soleil. He was key at the show Zumanity then moved to the Cirque Du Soleil’s Costume Shop. The greatness of his professional talent was only dwarfed by the immenseness of his heart. Kevin’s family and community at large are feeling the loss of him deeply. The reach of his love and mentorship will not stop with the loss of him. Each person who was lucky enough to be in his life pledges to continue in his shadow in his honor.
