

Kimberly A. Golding, age 58, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. She was born Kimberly Ann Jones on January 28,1964 at the La Mirada Hospital in La Mirada,California to her parents Joyce Payne and Terry Jones. She was the only child that the couple shared. Even though she spent most of her life as an only child, she was raised with her cousins Larry and Lisa who she considered her siblings. She also had a sister, Christie; and Brothers: Michael and Patrick from on her father’s side of the family that she cherished dearly.
Kimberly spent most of her life in California, moving around to many different cities as a young child. She also spent a few years living in Texas and Colorado, but eventually returning to California. As a child, Kim would enjoy many outdoor activities such as horseback riding, camping, fishing, boating and amusement parks. She also collected a lot of stuffed animals.
Kim had many friends growing up, but because her mother, Joyce, would move them around so much she lost contact with many of them, but she did grow up very close to her cousins. One of her closest friends growing up was Richard Hawk, who was in contact until her passing. Richard visited in August and they went out to a high school reunion. The time he spent with her, made her really happy and meant a lot to her.
It wasn’t until youth group at West Covina Church of Christ where she was baptized and met some of her close friends: Becky Taylor, September and Kelly Scott, Mike Cicco Chris Defazio and her first husband, John Capestro. Kimberly attended a few different high schools in a short period of time, one of them being Rolland High School, where she participated in Marching band. Kim and John were very close friends as teenagers, they ended up getting married in 1984 and started their family with the births of their children: Brandy, Tim and Christy.
Over the years, Kimberly made many friends in life: Debbie and Bo, and Brenda , Frank and Ed who referred to Kim as Kimbo, Shirley, who sadly passed away tragically at young age, Charlotte, and Sandy.
Kimberly met Glenn in 1990 through their close friend Shirley, and they were married on May 3, 1997 at the Island Chapel at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kim and Glenn would enjoy spending their time playing on dart leagues, attending car races, playing cards with family and friends, playing Bingo at the casino, watching football and hockey. Kim loved to travel and enjoyed vacations with her family. She went on many cruises, visited the Disney parks many times, and went to Hawaii. She was also a water baby; she loved to be by the beach.
Kim’s favorite pet was named Stormy, a Great Pyrenees , which was her mother Joyce’s dog before she passed away in March of 2005.
In 2008, Jude Barron at the age of 4, entered our lives, Making Kim a grandmother for the first time, followed by the birth of Madison in 2009, and London in 2010. Her grandchildren were her heart. She loved and helped raise them over the years.
She and Glenn were baptized Christians at Central Church here in Las Vegas. Together they participated in small group bible studies as well as "first step" over the 17 years that they attended Central.
Kim worked many jobs in life but the majority of her working career was working in the business offices of different hospitals. She worked at Valley Hospital for about 5 years, but prior to her retirement, she was a Project specialist at UMC hospital. Kimberly retired with the company after 18 years of service. She made so many great friends at UMC, whom she loved dearly.
Kim was very big on family, even if you were a friend, she considered you her family. She accepted everyone unconditionally. If you were a part of Kim’s life just know that you were very loved.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Stanley. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Golding, daughters: Brandy Stanley and Christine Capestro; son, Timothy Capestro; grandchildren: Jude, Madison and London; father,Terry Jones; siblings: Patrick Jones, Michael Jones, and Christie Nelson (Mike); and extended family and friends.
A memorial service for Kimberly will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
