Lang Isaac Black, age 47, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was born February 27, 1974 in Henderson, Nevada to Calvin L. Black and Charlene Adams Black. He was born with physical defects that harmed his kidney function and eventually shortened his life. His heart just could not sustain him any longer.
Lang graduated from Basic High School in 1992 and was then a dialysis patient for three years before getting a kidney transplant. It was a blessing to him and allowed him to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah starting in February of 1995.
After returning from his mission, Lang experienced kidney failure once again and was on dialysis for 7 more years before receiving a miraculous second transplant in 2004. His family remains grateful for the time they had to associate with this man. Lang was an uncle to 32 nieces and nephews and a dear brother to Kayann Jongsma, Calvin L. Black, Jr., Sarah Hessing, Adam Leland Black, Joseph Andrew Black, Morgan Whitmore and Chelsi Nielsen.
The doctor Lang had when he was a baby in Primary Children's' Hospital in Salt Lake City said after his 6 week stay, "This baby has a strong, basic constitution." He demonstrated his strength throughout his life. He definitely was a man of courage. He was a soft touch for his nieces and nephews who felt, "Uncle Lang always said 'Yes.'"
Lang had open heart surgery on May 13, 2021 and was unable to recover. Lang will be missed every day.
A visitation for Lang will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services begin at 11:00 AM; both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 401 Palo Verde Drive, Henderson, NV 89015. Lang will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 12:30 PM.
