Leilani Rose King, 83, was born June 29, 1942, in Norwalk, California, and passed away May 29, 2026. As a small child, Leilani moved to Hawaii at the age of three, returning as a teenager to California, where she graduated from Paramount High School. She began raising a family and had four children.
To help support her growing family, Leilani worked across a number of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, administration, and food service. Her willingness to do what was needed, and to do it with sincerity and care, reflected the practical bravery and straightforward integrity that defined her working life.
Later in life, Leilani exchanged wedding vows with Clemmy Lee King on June 7, 1975, at the Local Wedding Chapel in Carson City, Nevada. Together, the couple blended their lives and families to become an instant family. Leilani felt blessed to have five children: Scott, Michael, and Loren, and her bonus children: Jamie and Jason. Additionally, they were also blessed with nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In her personal life, Leilani found joy in pursuits that rewarded patience and care. She loved traveling to Hawaii and shared an interest in genealogy with her sister. In her younger years, she enjoyed painting figurines and working in acrylic, and she liked camping. In later years, she devoted herself to crocheting, quilting, and tending to her garden—quiet, faithful arts that mirrored her gentle nature and the warmth she brought to those around her. In Mayfield, Utah, Leilani was known as an unofficial historian, a role that suited her steady attentiveness and her respect for people and their stories.
In 2006, Leilani retired to Utah initially, and in 2009, when she relocated to Southern Nevada with her husband, Clemmy. Throughout her life, Leilani carried herself with a quiet steadiness—marked by generosity, honesty, and a gentle strength that showed most clearly in the care she extended to others and the courage with which she met life’s changes.
Leilani was preceded in death by her husband, Clemmy, a stillborn child, two sons, Michael Packingham and Loren Wadstein; sisters Jodi, Yvonne, and Katie; her brother, Bob; and her granddaughter, Michelle. She is survived by her children: Scott, Jamie, and Jason; her sister, Leah; her brother, Bill; her grandchildren: David, Lily, Lizzy, Ethan, Ryan, John, Tim, and Kelsey; and her great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Palm Henderson Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015, on June 17, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM. Leilani will be laid to rest in Palm Henderson Cemetery in Henderson, Nevada.
