

She was born in Saint John, Utah on July 24, 1934 to M.C. and Eva Newman. She was raised and attended high school in Tooele, Utah, and was married to Lynn Kirk on May 27, 1951. The young couple moved to Henderson in 1953.
She was active in the Henderson Bowling League for more than 20 years. She was the President and Past President of the Women’s auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2672. Her favorite hobby was to crochet. Many raffles at the Eagles’ hall and other organizations in the community were pleased to raffle off items that were handmade by Lola as a way to raise money.
She is survived by her sister, Karma, of Magna, Utah, Scott and Gayle Kirk, Rhett and Vicky Kirk, and Steve and Amy Kirk, all of Henderson. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Lynn, her loving husband of 46 years, passed away in 1997.
The viewing will be held Wednesday, May 30 at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary on Boulder Highway in Henderson. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 at the same location. Lola will be interred at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, next to Lynn.
