The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

- Psalm 23

I knew Ida from a long time ago. My sister, Jeanette was married to John Salinas. We often visited her when we lived in Indio, California and Palm Springs, California. We went to Lake Mead. She let us borrow their boat. She welcomed me into her home many times a long time ago. I was pleased to welcome her and her daughter, Irma into my home in St Louis when Irma was going to serve our country. We took them to see the site's and took the tour of Anheuser Busch. God bless all in this time of sorrow. I know she will be missed.

Maria was the sweetest woman. She opened her home to me and was an instant friend. Her homemade tortillas were fantastic! She loved her family dearly and shared so much of that love with everyone she met. Happy to know her sweet spirit is waiting for and rooting for the rest of her loved ones here on earth.

I loved going to visit Maria when I served as a missionary in her area. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She always had a good sense of humor and she made the best tamales I have ever had. She had a great love for her family. Until we meet again!
