

Marilyn J. Urbin passed peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters in Henderson, NV. Marilyn was born in Chicago, IL. as the fourth girl of a family five known as the "Thau Girls". She graduated from Immaculata High School, and then worked as a secretary at Russell Seeds Company in the penthouse of the Palmolive Building. Later, she worked at Marshall Fields as a sales clerk and model. She met Matt Urbin and began dating after he baked her an apple pie. They married shortly after and began a family with two daughters before deciding to move to Santa Barbara, CA where the third child was born.
They escaped the fog of Santa Barbara and moved to Tarzana, CA until she retired. Marilyn raised her family and also worked as an office manager at Matt's medical laboratory, MediLab of Beverly Hills. She had a passion for interior decoration, fine cooking for friends and family, gardening, and acrylic painting.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Dr. Matthew C. Urbin, parents William and Marie Thau, sisters Rosemary Duffy (Jim), Carol Hostert (Richard), Dorothy Sampson (Jim) and Virginia Campe (Conrad), and her daughters, Michelle and Maureen.
She is survived by her daughters Mariellen Webster (Van), Monica Urbin and Marcia Urbin. And, her grandsons, Brian Webster, Stefan Webster (Kelsey) and her great grandson, Oliver Webster.
Services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 in the chapel at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery. She will be interned "in the penthouse" with Matt.
