Mary Cecilia Alcantar-Duarte

She is survived by her husband, Raul Duarte; her daughters Sara, Lara and Cecilia and her son, Raul “Chuchi”; her grandchildren Alessandra, Landon and Vincent.

Mary was born in Culver City, California on the 31st of August, 1951. She is the second child of Isidro and Augustina Alcantar, and the sister of Pedro Alcantar.

Mary grew up in California where she met her future husband Raul working at Revell. Together, they had four children and married in 1985. Mary and Raul moved their family, along with her parents to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mary worked for the State of Nevada, Manufactured Housing for 17 years. She was a Program Assistant issuing titles for mobile homes. She retired in 2008 to help take care of her first grandchild, Alessandra.

Mary’s passions included crocheting, sewing, gambling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. The love Mary had for Disney, musicals, golden oldies and classic movies has stayed with us. Many of these songs, movies, and places have been revisited countless times offering comfort in the nostalgia that always brings us back to her.

Mary will be laid to rest at Boulder City Municipal Cemetery.
