Mel was born on September 13, 1929, in Colorado. She met Sheldon Carter at a dance. They were married on August 23, 1947. They were married for 79 years.
Mel had a career working for Kinney Shoes for 35 years. She had a passion for church, exercise, and her children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Carter. Mel is survived by Terry, Shelly, Vickie, Jeff; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services will be held July 06, 2026 at the LDS Chapel, 916 5th St Boulder City, NV, 89005. Viewing from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM, Chapel service from 10:30 AM to 11:30AM and Internment at 12:00 PM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
