Mercedes Oliquino Greene, age 66, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Friday February 21, 2020. She was born on November 2, 1953 at home in Guinobataan, Albay, Philippines to her parents Gregorio and Casiana Oliquino. Mercedes grew up with Seven Siblings; five younger brothers and two younger sisters. She graduated from High School in the Philippines in 1973.
In 1979, Mercedes met the man of her dreams, Guy Greene. The couple would marry in a private civil wedding in Angeles City, Philippines on June 30, 1981. In 1983, the family relocated to the United States. The couple were blessed with two sons, Philip and David; and four Grandchildren, Alyssa, Madyson, Marcus, and Marielle.
Education was important to Mercedes. Although she completed education requirements for graduation in the Philippines, she decided to ensure her education was up to date. She studied hard and diligently, graduating from Fairfield-Suisun Adult School in 2000; her favorite class being English.
Upon completion of her schooling, Mercedes went to work to help support her household. She worked in food service for Fairfield-Suisun school district, Vacaville school district, and also sold Mary Kay products.
Mercedes was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a lifelong Catholic. She was a dedicated and devoted to her family; they were the center of her world. She enjoyed sewing projects; making clothing for her children, crocheting, playing slot Machines, watching her favorite shows “Eat Bulaga and WowWowWin” on the food network, and solitaire.
Mercedes Oliquino Greene lived life to its fullest and made everyone around her happier just for knowing her. She will be remembered with a smile, and leaves with all those who knew her many wonderful memories.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her father, Gregorio Oliquino; mother, Casiana Pantoja; and brothers: Vicente, Melchor, and Augusto Oliquino. She is survived by her husband, Guy Greene; sons: Philip Greene (Elsie) and David Greene; siblings: Christobal Oliquino, Celedonia Bajo, Remedios Pesito, and Patricino Oliquino; and grandchildren: Alyssa Greene, Madyson Greene, Marcus Greene, and Marielle Greene.
A visitation for Mercedes will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015, Mercedes will be laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
