Michael M. Corona

Michael M. Corona, age 63, of Fresno, California passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was born on April 4, 1958 at Fresno Community Hospital in Fresno California to his parents Manuel and Frances Corona.

As a young boy raised in Fresno California, Michael was an active child who was intelligent and had little trouble getting along with his peers. He was almost always the first to jump in when it came to playing games or participating in other childhood activities. He played Football, baseball and basketball; participated in Boy Scouts, was an alter boy in his church, and a member of the local ROTC. In his spare time he liked Collected baseball cards, and spending time with his best friends Ron Ebanez and Ralph Garcia. His most memorable achievements included winning many Sports awards and achieving Eagle Scout. Michael graduated from McLane High School in 1976, with his favorite courses being in history and Mathematics.

Shortly after high school, Michael started his professional career working for Viking Freight, which later turned into Fedex Freight. Through his hard work and dedication over the next 44 years, Michael achieved his last position with the company as a Master Truck Driver. He had the uncanny ability to mentor and inspire his fellow colleagues, traits that made him an exceptional worker. Michael's fellow workers saw him as a supporter, motivator, and a mentor, who was giving and kind and always ready to give them sound advice.

On June 12, 1982 Michael married Elizabeth Ann Miramontes at a Church wedding in Fresno Californa. He was quite sensitive and loving to his new wife Elizabeth, showing his constant concern and fondness. The couple were blessed with three children: Raquel, Nicholas, Erik. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who always put his family first. Michael was witty, and had a unique "best friend" relationship with each of his children. He loved his wife, and enjoyed finding ways to spoil her.

Because Michael loved to have a broad variety of activities in his life, he took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies, and interests. As an adult he enjoyed Swimming, attending sporting events and traveling. His favorite vacations were ones that were not planned. He enjoyed taking trips to visit family in Las Vegas, Chicago, and Bay Area. Michael was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity. Tops on his list were Football, basketball, baseball, MMA, and Boxing.

There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Michael. He was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. He had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While he was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Michael Corona for inspiration, leadership, wisdom and even courage. Michael was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with his loved ones and friends, and will be deeply missed!

Michael was preceded in death by father, Manuel Corona and mother, Frances Neves. Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa Corona; daughter, Raquel Corona; and sons: Nicholas Corona (Evelyn); and son Erik Corona (Amanda).
