Neil L. Levinson
May 19, 1946 – June 21, 2020
Neil L. Levinson, age 74, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was born May 19, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, to his parents Jean and Irving Levinson. Neil was the youngest of three children: his older brother Bob and older sister Diane.
In 1964, Neil graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York. He continued his education obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York, College at New Paltz, and was a member of the Delta Kappa Zeta fraternity.
Neil met his soulmate and best friend, Donna Marie Moore, in 1967. The young couple married on March 1, 1969, in New Paltz, New York. Little did he know then that it was only the beginning of a wonderful adventure that would span over the next 51 years. The couple was blessed with two wonderful daughters, Suzanne and Meredith; and four grandchildren: Morgan, Jordan, Jackson, and Clover.
Neil was a self-made entrepreneur, and owned and operated his own company, Neil Levinson Enterprises, for over 30 years. He specialized in wholesale cabinet and furniture design products, and many of his customers and vendors became life-long friends. He loved his career and worked very hard to provide for his family. Through his hard work and dedication, his success provided him the opportunity enjoy the finer things in life, and the flexibility and balance to enjoy his family.
Neil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He and his wife Donna enjoyed soaking up the sun in Hawaii and taking the countless trips to Las Vegas, before making Las Vegas their home. Outgoing and energized by people, Neil was blessed with so many amazing friends who loved him throughout the years. He was also an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, and loved watching all the games, wherever he was.
Neil believed in the importance of involvement in his community and was an active member of his Homeowner's Association. He was a member of the Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church for over 30 years, was a member of the Men’s Group and the Lunch Bunch, and continued to participate virtually after moving to Las Vegas.
Neil was a committed man of faith, hard work and principal. He loved his wife and family and provided a wonderful life for them. He was practical and logical and took the time to appreciate all that life has to offer. He never met a stranger and will be missed by everyone that had the privilege of meeting him.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Jean Levinson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Levinson; daughters: Suzanne Hanneman (Jeffrey) and Meredith Bogguess (Emile); grandchildren: Jackson Hanneman, Clover Hanneman, Morgan Prutsman, and Jordan Bogguess; brother, Robert Levinson (Lauren); sister, Diane Rosen (Myron); sister-in-law, Susan Franks (Roy); his nieces Anita Levinson (John), Shari Ascher (Neil) and Robyn Rosen (Vinnie), and nephew, Mark Levinson (Keri); great nieces and nephews, and countless friends, all who loved him immensely.
