Nicholas Warren Nixon

Nicholas Warren Nixon, 88, of Boulder City, Nevada, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV. Known to everyone who met him for his warmth and kindness, Nick lived a life well loved — and he leaves behind a legacy defined by how deeply he cared for the people around him.

Nick was born and raised in Turlock, California. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served his country with pride. Following his service, he became the first person in his family to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) — an achievement that reflected his determination and quiet ambition.

Nick went on to build a 35-year career at Caesars Palace, working his way from dealer to floorman, and along the way he developed a reputation as someone who treated everyone — coworkers and guests alike — with respect and good humor. His entrepreneurial spirit led him, in 1995, to open the Boulder City Water Store alongside his wife, a business they ran together successfully for five years before selling it.

An active man throughout his life, Nick loved running, hiking, cycling, and his morning routine at the gym. But nothing rivaled his Saturday morning coffee dates with friends — a weekly tradition that was, without fail, the highlight of his week.

Above all else, Nick's greatest passion was his 42-year marriage to the love of his life, Gina. Their partnership was the heart of his world, and everyone who knew them could see it.

Nick is survived by his wife, Gina, of Boulder City, NV; his daughter, Nicole (Mike) and grandson Devon, of Aiken, SC; grandson John Timberlake, of Las Vegas, NV; and his brother, Michael (Pam), of Denair, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Araminta; his father, Frank II; his brother, Frank III; and his sister, Polly Johnston.

For everyone who had the privilege of knowing Nick, one thing was always true: he was a beautiful person, and he was deeply, dearly loved. He will be greatly missed.

A Military Honors Service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Military Cemetery on September 10, 2026, at 10:00 am.
