Patsy Ruth Learned 1936-2017 Our Friend, Sister, Mother and Grandmother, was born Patsy Ruth Lee on January 7, 1936 in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She always went by Ruth or Ruthie, never Patsy. If you were careless or didn’t know any better and called Ruth by her “given” name, you would suffer her wrath. If you were a good or long time friend, you might have called her “Red.” As her friend or child, you knew that there was no one better to have in your corner. Ruth was always very independent, feisty, stubborn, and had a wicked sense of humor. She knew just what she wanted from this world. And if there was something she really wanted, she was hell-bent on having it and nothing would stand in her way. Extremely loyal and generous, Ruth was always there for her friends and would give away her last dollar or open up her home to help someone in need, even when she had nothing for herself. Ruth had three true loves during her life. She married Charles Miner in1953, and had three children with him. Two daughters and one son: Bettie Grace Miner, Cynthia Anne Miner- Norman and David “Frank” Miner. Ruth counts Revolutionary War Patriots, Knights, and Kings of France as her ancestors. The Lee bloodline dates back to the year 1018 A.D. with her 27th Great Grandfather. There were many, many strong-willed, courageous people, just like her. In 1975 she married Orville “Pineapple” Learned. He passed away in 1999. Ruth was so happy to find love again with Dave Aldridge. They were best friends and soul mates. They are most certainly happily together, once again. Ruth loved her family and spending time with friends. No one was ever a stranger, always a friend. She loved and almost always had the companionship of a dog. Although she called many cities and countries home, Ruth was practically a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, having lived there for the better part of two decades. Ruth left us on January 2, 2017, just 5 days shy of her 81st Birthday. She leaves her three children, Bettie, Cindy and Frank, a grandson Skylar Miner, her sister Nelda Foster, half brothers Andy and Rudy Sichler, and countless loving friends.
