

PAUL N. CORONEOS, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23rd, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 5, 1928, to parents Nick and Bertha Coroneos. After time in Needles, California; Kingman, Arizona; and Boulder City, Nevada; his family settled in Henderson, Nevada in 1941.
He graduated from Basic High School in 1947. He was proud of his years playing football at Basic, especially the years he played with his brother, Alex. He attended St. Mary’s College in California. He was a Master Plumber and a longtime member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 525. He met and married his wife Marika in Athens, Greece in 1959. After returning from Greece, they bought a home in Henderson, Nevada, where they raised three children, Elayne, Lorraine, and Nick. Paul and Marika were among the first members of St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, where they were very involved. Paul loved camping, fishing, hunting, rock collecting, spending time in his “home away from home,” Pioche, Nevada, but mostly, spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmie, George, and Alex; and son, Nick. He is survived by his wife, Marika; daughers, Elayne Coroneos and Lorraine Coroneos; Son-in-law, Ron Smerek; and grandchildren, Jimmy Smerek, Marissa Smerek, Derek Siano, and Ryan Siano; all of Henderson, Nevada; Cousin Angelo Tselentis of Tucson, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, March 31st at Palm Mortuary-Henderson, and at 10:00am on Friday, April 1st at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
