Paulino Dacanay Ormilla, Sr., passed on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Henderson Hospital in Henderson, Nevada at the age of 88. He was born August 20, 1930 in San Quintin, Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Lazaro Ormilla and Paulina Dacanay. He was the second to the eldest of six children, two preceded him in death.
Paulino attended his primary school in San Quintin, Pangasinan and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education major in History at University of the East in Manila. He teaches for a short period of time and afterwards served in Manila Police District where he retires in 1985 as a Police Sergeant.
Paulino moved to United States with his wife in 1990 and worked at Golden Nugget Casino in Laughlin, Nevada and Valley View Hospital in Bullhead City, Arizona as a Chef and; he completely retired in 2012.
Paul, Poe, Pang and Lolo Pang as well known to his family, relatives and friends, married Crispina Bersamin on August 23, 1957 at San Quintin, Pangasinan. They spent 61 fruitful years together until his wife died on December 4, 2016 in Cavite, Philippines. In their union, they were blessed to have eight healthy children, Rebecca that is married to Rogelio Dizon, Remedios to Noel Rafael, Rosemarie to Angelito Alarcon, Rosalind to Ray Serafino, Ruben to Luvel Amban, Paulino Jr. to Zenaida Malinay, Crispina and Paulino III.
Paulino Sr. was also survived by his grandchildren Jasmin and Ivan Matias, Geronimo and Len Garfin, Marjorie, Sheralyn and Rene Guttzeit, Lord Gerald and Rochelle Remulla, Marie Grace and Nolie Hernandez, Lucky and Pao Bustillos, Jericho, Jessica and Carl Elliot, Brian and Corina Hernandez, David, Shanon, Keith Benedict, Kenneth and Jhen Nueva, Clark, Francis, Krizza Marie and Jerryko Barba, Angelica Faith, Danielle Nicole and few great grandchildren.
Paulino will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
A memorial service and mass will be offered by his family and friends from Las Vegas, NV and Bullhead City, AZ at a tentative date in December 2018 at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Bullhead City, Arizona.
His ashes are planned to be buried at Rita Samson Memorial Garden in Imus, Cavite, Philippines in January 2019, following a memorial service and celebration of life that will be rendered by his family, relatives and friends.
