OBITUARY

Pearl S. Osborn

May 13, 1920September 18, 2019

Panagiota (Pearl) Stavropoulos Osborn was born on May 13, 1920 and passed away on September 18, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vassilios and Dionisia Stavropoulos; husband, and Henderson Chief of Police, Floyd Osborn; son, Dionysus; brother, Pericles, and sisters: Katina and Georgia.

Pearl was the retired owner of Osborn Realty and an active member of St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church. A lady of many hats, she was also an accomplished seamstress who designed and sewed her elegant outfits. Pearl was a founding member of the Forerunners Club, long time board member and public relations chairman of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, The 1986 Daughters of Penelope “Penelope of the Year” and district treasurer, Maids of Athena “Mother of the Year,” and President of Henderson Business and Professional Women. As a Rose de Lima Hospital Auxiliary Member her picture with Sisters Marie Brigid and M. Georganne, and NV Governor O’Callaghan hangs on the hospital wall.

Upon retirement, Pearl and her husband, an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper and Battle of the Bulge survivor, traveled the world, including the WWII tour of France, Belgium, Lukembourg, The American Cemetery, England, Italy, and Greece.

Pearl will be remembered for her profound love of life, remarkable positive attitude, and her deep loyalty to her family and friends.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Alexandra and her husband Peter; sons: Gregory and Vassilios; sister, Sophia; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 4:00 with Trisagion following at 5:00, both at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89118. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 10:00 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church. Pearl will be laid to rest privately with her family at the The Southern NV Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Church Building Fund in her name.
