Peggy Lynn George, 69, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away unexpectedly on July 22nd, 2024, at Henderson Hospital in Henderson, Nevada. She was the most kind-hearted mother, grandma, daughter and sister you could ever ask for.
Peggy was born Peggy Pitzer, on April 2nd, 1955 to William and Shirley Pitzer. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska at Bryan Memorial Hospital. Moving to Iowa shortly after birth, she grew up with her four younger brothers and two younger sisters, before graduating from Coon Rapids High School in 1973. She then attended Iowa Methodist Nursing School and received a degree in nursing. In her later years, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Phoenix while working full time. On August 23, 1975, she married Fred George, and they were married for thirty-four years. In 1989 her and Fred were able to adopt their one and only son Kristopher and for thirty-five years she was able to fulfill her dream of being the most incredible mother.
She had a long and successful working career in nursing, as well as other healthcare management positions before retiring from case management in 2020. She absolutely loved her career and continued to work one day a week after retirement.
Peggy was a simple person who never needed much to make her happy. More than anything else she enjoyed spending time, and money, on her two grandkids Kira and Cyrus. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved going out to dinner with family and going to lunch with her friends from work. Reading was one of her true passions and she always brought a book wherever she went.
Peggy is survived by her son, Kristopher; her daughter-in-law, Ana; her grandkids, Kira and Cyrus; her mother, Shirley; her father, William; her sister, Vicki; her brother, Greg; her brother, Kevin; her brother, Bruce; her brother, Brad; her sister, Linda; and her and many nieces and nephews.
For those who knew Peggy, knew she was the most selfless, kind, and amazing woman. But her best quality is that you could count on Peggy, because she put anyone and everyone she knew before herself. Whether it was her coworkers, friends, parents, siblings, kids, or grandkids, Peggy made sure their needs were taken care of before her own. Peggy was truly a special person and there will never be another like her.
