Peter J. Mazzola, 72, of Boulder City, passed away June 20, 2011. He was born June 22, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and resided in Nevada for 16 years. He was a retired vice president of a computer service company. Peter joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years of age. He served in the Naval Air Early Warning System in the North Atlantic Barrier. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Celeste Benson. Peter is survived by his wife, Susan L. Mazzola of Boulder City; and granddaughter, Nicole Benson. Also survived by daughter, Francine and husband, Jacob Medrano; son, Peter and wife, Valerie; two sisters, Vivian Toth and husband, Robert, and Joanne Mazzotti, and husband, Roger; eight grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, June 27, with service following, both at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Boulder City. Military Honors Chapel service following at 1:20 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
