Born on November 16, 1945, in Manhattan Beach, California, she was the daughter of Austin and Jeanne Blankenship and grew up in Manhattan Beach, where she made many lifelong memories.
Phyllis later moved to Boulder City, Nevada, where she and her husband, Ronald Hall, owned and operated a flower shop together, Edie’s Flowers. After retiring, Phyllis and Ron made their home in Henderson, Nevada.
Phyllis was one of those rare people who brought happiness with her wherever she went. Even during the darkest and most difficult times in her life, she found a way to smile. She had a big smile, an even bigger laugh, and a warmth that made people feel good simply by being around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie, who passed away on March 15, 2020. Together, Phyllis and Ron built a life filled with family, hard work, and love.
Family was everything to Phyllis. She loved her children and treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, David (Andrea) and Matthew (Kristine); her grandchildren, Austin (Melina), Daniel, and Nathan (Kim); and her great-grandchildren, Merrick, Murphy, and Van.
Phyllis had an exceptionally generous heart. She truly did not have a mean bone in her body. She was always looking for ways to make someone else’s day a little brighter. She was well known for tipping anyone who helped her—from restaurant servers and store cashiers to the person handing her food through a fast-food drive-through. Her generosity wasn’t something she thought about; it was simply who she was.
Phyllis also loved to shop, and she loved anything glamorous. She adored her bling and was never afraid to sparkle. There wasn’t much in her world that couldn’t be improved with a little bedazzling. She had her own unique style and personality, and she wore both proudly.
Phyllis lived her life with joy, generosity, love, and a wonderful sense of fun. She was glamorous, kind, fiercely loving, and completely one of a kind. Her big smile and contagious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There truly was nobody quite like Phyllis.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply, but who will carry her love, laughter, generosity, and sparkle with them always.
