Raymond Scott Taney

Raymond Scott Taney, age 62, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Raymond was born in Henderson, Nevada to Sharon Lee Taney and John Quincy Taney. Raised in Henderson, Raymond graduated from Basic High School in 1980. He went on to continue his education for the next couple of years, which led to Ray going to work in the hotel and casino industry as an IT specialist.

Later in life, Raymond would meet the love of his life Kathleen at church in Henderson in December of 1992. The couple would marry on May 15, 1993 and would blend their lives and families. Together they would share their children from previous relationships and add to their family. together they were blessed with four children, and as their families grew, three grandchildren.

Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to enjoying the time he shared with his family, and his involvement with his church; he had a passion for Sci-Fi, golfing, reading, watching movies and sharing in his favorite holidays; Christmas and the 4th of July. Ray was caring and kind, and will truly be missed.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, John Quincy Taney; and his mother, Sharon Lee Taney. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann Taney; his Children: Christopher Taney (Kelsie); Bradley Webb (Michelle Wantland); K'Leigh Taney (Andrew Lazcano); and Parker Taney; his siblings: Michael Taney (Sue), Brenda Combs (Charles) and Linda Burton (Scott); grandchildren: Talon Webb, Hazel Taney and Reed Taney; and extended family.

A visitation for Ray will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 401 Palo Verde Dr, Henderson, NV 89015. Ray will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery in Henderson, Nevada.
