He graduated from Parkland High School and received a degree in waste water management from New Mexico State University. He married Anna Cooper, on November 23, 2015.
Rick had a career in waste water management for The Department of Interior. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1992-1996 and had a passion for his country, powerlifting, dogs, metallica, guns, trucks, and the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by Ann Cooper, Donna Gorman, and Louis Oliger. Rick is survived by Anna Cooper (spouse), Raven Cooper (daughter), Noah and Jenna Smith (Stepchildren), Nikki Cooper- Espinosa (sister), Meghan and Dylan Kishton (Niece and Nephew)
