Richard Englehardt, 85, a resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. he was born March 12, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents George and Theresa Englehardt (Nitti). Richard enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War.
Richard supported his family as a truck driver. In 1968, Richard extended his support within his community by joined the Deer Park Fire Department as a volunteer, Engine Company 3; serving as Department President and Captain. In 1987, Richard retired from trucking, and in 1995 he retired from the fire department, and relocated to Henderson, Nevada.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather, and brother, who loved spending time with his family, fishing, and boating. In retirement, he enjoyed taking cruises to Aruba; and playing craps, slots, and three-card poker in his favorite casinos. Richard was also somewhat of a sports fan; who supported his favorite New York Sports teams: Islanders, Mets, and the Jets.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Theresa; his loving wives, Joan and Helen; daughter, Susan; sister, Theresa; and brother, George. He is survived by his loving wife, Nevertity; children: Joan Marie (Rick), Maryann (Paul), Richard (Gina), Kathleen (George), Irene (John), Erick (Janine), Theresa; Peter (Kim), Matthew (Diana), Mariam (Nabil), and Fleurette; and brother, Paul.
A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Funeral services will occur Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St Mary's Coptic Church, 6170 W Cartier Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89108. Richard will be laid to rest with honors Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery., 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.
