

Robert Dean Babcock, age 90, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1934 in Hamilton, Massachusetts to his parents Marcius and Doris Babcock. At an early age the family relocated to North Berwick, Maine where Robert enjoyed fishing with his friends and went to school. On October of 1952, Robert enlisted in the US Air Force in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Robert served honorably in the US Air Force for four years. He served in the 814th Supply Squadron in the Philippines and one and a half years in Korea prior to his honorable discharge from active duty.
In 1956, Robert met and married Bertha Smith and had four children. To support his family, Robert went wherever he could find work. He worked at Eastern Plastics in Maine; Bassi Lumber in California; Firestone for 15 years, as a Bartender for the American Legion, and retired as a van driver for Skyline Convalescent Home. Robert relocated to Nevada to be closer to his family.
Robert was a devoted father; his family meant the world to him. When his children were younger, he would take them to beaches, skating, movies, and tobogganing. He loved picking and eating blueberries; especially pies. Robert also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting deer and quail. in his later years, he enjoyed traveling back to Maine to visit family, going fishing, and no matter what went on in life, Robert was a diehard sports fan; supporting his Boston Red Socks Baseball Team and New England Patriots football teams.
As a veteran, Robert was very active in his community. He was active in the American Legion and the VFW, serving as past commander of all, and was a Life-Member of the Legion. He enjoyed tending bar at the Legion, Dressing up and playing santa clause for events for many years, as well as putting up flags on the 4th of July. He also helped his great grandchildren raise money doing lemonade stands for fallen Police Officers.
Robert was a true family man and patriot. He lived his life to the fullest and will truly be missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Marcius and Doris Babcock; his children: Linda Alarid and David; sisters: Lucy Bragdon, Mabel Campbell, and Ruth Cole; his brother, Nelson Babcock; and great granddaughter, Sofia Mae. He is survived by his children: Kenny and Beverly; his sister, Barbara Jenell; his grandchildren: Tammy, Robert, Chandra, Dan, JR, Earnie, and Melody; three great grandchildren: Theresa Ann, Mackenzie and Jeb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Mortuary - Henderson, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Following the funeral service will be a military honors and committal from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Mem, Boulder City, NV 89005.
