Robert (Bob) Lee Galentine passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 76, at the Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada. He was born on February 21, 1950, in Pasadena, California, to Mayme Depape and Frank Naccarato, their only child. Later, his mother remarried Thomas Galentine, who lovingly helped raise him until he passed when Bob was 16 years old. Bob grew up in California and carried the values of family, loyalty, and hard work throughout his life.
After high school, Bob proudly joined the United States Navy, where he served for four years. During his service, he was stationed in Hawaii and participated in bomb testing operations in the Pacific Ocean. It was at a Navy Ball where he met the love of his life and future bride, Jennifer Sue Harvey. They fell in love immediately and were married just three months later. Bob and Jenny shared nearly 51 wonderful years of marriage before Jenny went to Heaven one month shy of their 51st anniversary.
Bob and Jenny later moved with their 1st daughter, Shawna Weist, from California to Carson City, Nevada, where they had their 2nd daughter, Christina (Tina) Carrillo. Bob worked for a couple different places before he started with the State of Nevada at NV DOT. He also shared his talents by teaching upholstery classes for several years at the local community college. In his younger years, Bob loved fishing, camping, and treasure hunting in mines with his three brothers-in-law. Though an only child, he embraced his wife’s family as his own and treasured every moment spent together — whether camping outdoors, attending car shows, going out to dinner, or staying in to play cards. Bob especially loved working on his 1953 Chevy Bel Air and was proud to be a member of the Karson Kruzers car club alongside his wife. He deeply loved his family, grandchildren, and friends. He and his wife enjoyed watching and taking care of their grandchildren from Shawna. Once they were older, Bob and Jenny moved to Henderson, Nevada, where they enjoyed the same from their grandchildren from Tina.
While he continued tinkering with his beloved Chevy from time to time, Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family, attending Church at Lake Mead, and participating in church activities. The Iron Men’s Ministry and Men’s Breakfast were especially meaningful to him, along with the Senior Saints Group. He cherished the friendships he built within his church family and, most importantly, his relationship with Jesus Christ.
One of Bob’s favorite hymns to sing was “Amazing Grace,” a song that reflected the faith he carried throughout his life.
After the passing of his beloved Jenny, Bob lived four and a half years without her by his side. His family finds peace and comfort knowing he is now reunited with his beautiful bride, his Savior Jesus, and the loved ones who went before him.
Bob is survived by his loving daughters, Tina Carrillo and Shawna Weist; his sons-in-law, Anthony Carrillo and Ken Weist, Ron Fitchett and wife Lori; and his beloved grandchildren, Anthony Carrillo, Jennalee Carrillo, Zachary Fitchett and wife Samantha, Lucas Fitchett and wife Kristina, and Derek Fitchett and wife Dani, Corey West, Tyler Weist, Kelsey Barlow and husband Justin. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, along with his sister-in-law, Pat Cerniglia, and brother-in-laws, Nate Cerniglia, Chris Harvey, and wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Jenny Galentine; his mother, Mayme Depape Galentine; his stepfather, Thomas Galentine; his father, Frank Naccarato; his Great Grandson Jaxson Fitchett, Grandson AJ Weist, his sister-in-law, Sherry Duke; his brother-in-law, Paul Duke; and many other cherished family members who welcomed him into Heaven.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his family rejoices in the promise that they will see him again someday.
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me…”
