

Robert was born on September 8, 1932 the first child of several children born to Elbert "Jack" and Dorothy (Whetzell) Long of Mulberry, Kansas.
He attended Muberry Elementary and graduated from MHS in 1951. While in school he was active in sports and excelled in Track.
Upon graduation he went into the US Army. After completing basic training he was shipped to Germany where he met and married the love of his life, Leni (Helen) Anny Schiller on March 26, 1956.
After serving 4 years in Germany and returning Stateside and to various locations, they made their forever home in Henderson, NV where he worked and they spent most of their 57 years of marriage. Leni passed March 10, 2013. Robert continued to live in the home they shared until November, 2017 when he moved to Mulberry, Kansas, his hometown.
As his health declined he agreed to move to Arma Rehab and Health in Arma, Kansas where he received quality care until his passing.
Robert is pre-deceased by his parents, his wife, siblings: Earl, Charles, Harold and Norman Long; and Freda Pallucca.
Survivors include Mavis (Pete) Willey of Mulberry, KS; Ron (Bev) Long of Liberal, MO; Sharon Mitchell of OKC, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Leni, as he pre-arranged in 2013.
A Graveside service was August 19, 2021 at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary and Cemetery,
