Ruth Marilyn Bosum Albert

Ruth Mariyln Albert of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on October 24, 2011. Born June 25th 1927 in Reed City, MI. the daughter of Augustus and Esther Borsum. The middle of four siblings, Ted, Marie, Al and Betty. On January 1st, 1998, she married Harold Albert from Poughkeepsie, NY.

Ruth graduated from Newberry, Michigan High School where she was a Drum Majorette, then went on to attend Michigan State University where she studied Interior Fashion and Design. After raising her children, she worked in Real Estate. During her life, Ruth volunteered her services and as President of the Women’s Auxiliary and Borgess Services League in Michigan and was a Certified Parliamentarian.

Ruth loved horseracing and annually attended the Kentucky Derby and races in Saratoga, NY. Her favorite pastime however was visiting her sisters and brothers in Michigan and spending time with family playing cards, decorating her home, entertaining, shopping with her friends, children and grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her husband Harold Albert of Las Vegas, daughter Debbie Standish and fiancé Chas Pries of Three Oaks, MI.; son Mark Berglund and daughter-in-law Margie Berglund of Reno, NV. Grandchildren, Chelsea & Cariston Standish of Las Vegas, NV. and Alana Berglund of Reno, NV. Sisters Marie Ginther of E. Lansing, MI., sister Betty Barber of Newberry, MI. and sister-in-law Barbara Borsum of Grand Ledge, MI.;sister-in-law Maryann Quinlan of Middleville, Mi. ; best girlfriend Jan Millholland of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements under the direction of Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, Henderson, NV.

A memorial will be held on 11/5/11 at 12:00 pm
