Sergio Edward Cordero

Sergio was born on September 18th, 1966 to Maria Avila Hernandez in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Nogales High School in 1984 Sergio went on to marry Brenda Vega Soules, and together had their three children Stephanie Cordero, Christopher Cordero, and David Cordero. Sergio would say there was nothing he loved more in this world than his kids. He was definitely a loving and proud father. Sergio is also survived by his siblings, Lucia McKenzie, Oscar Cordero, Frank Hernandez, and Marlow Hernandez.

In 1992, Sergio went on to open his own bus company “Exquisite Bus Lines” which began his 27 year long career in Bus Transportation in Los Angeles, California as well as McAllen and Harlingen Texas. Sergio was a long time resident of Texas after leaving his hometown, where he lived with his fiancé Elizabeth Perez and her son Carlos Silva. Sergio was the Deputy Director of Operations for Greyhound Lines, before retiring and moving to Henderson Nevada in 2019 to be closer to his family.

Anyone who knew Sergio would say that he had a love for the country life, so much so that he developed a Texas draw lol! He loved to travel, especially taking road trips to historical places. One of our favorites to visit with him, was Tombstone, Arizona he loved the history there. Road trips were the best with Sergio because after so many years of driving around the country professionally, he knew where all the go to and

must see spots were. Sergio also had a love for cooking, especially cooking breakfast, or one of his mother Maria’s original recipes. Every holiday, even “if he wasn’t in town, he’d always make her holiday dishes.

He will forever be remembered for his kind and giving heart, love for his kids, wild bus stories, and most of all his immense love for his family.

Sergio nació el 18 de septiembre de 1966 de María Avila Hernández en Los Ángeles, California. En 1992, Sergio abrió su propia compañía de autobuses "Exquisite Bus Lines", que comenzó su carrera de 27 años en el transporte de autobuses en Los Ángeles, California, así como McAllen y Harlingen Texas. Sergio fue residente de Texas por mucho tiempo después de dejar su ciudad natal, donde vivía con su prometida Elizabeth Pérez y su hijo Carlos Silva. Sergio fue Director Adjunto de Operaciones de

Greyhound Lines, antes de retirarse y mudarse a Henderson Nevada en 2019 para estar más cerca de su familia.

Cualquiera que conociera a Sergio diría que amaba la vida en el campo, ¡tanto que desarrolló un sorteo de Texas, jaja! Le encantaba viajar, especialmente hacer viajes por carretera a lugares históricos. Uno de nuestros favoritos para visitar con él, fue Tombstone, Arizona, le encantó la historia allí. Los viajes por carretera fueron los mejores con Sergio porque después de tantos años de conducir profesionalmente por el país, sabía por dónde encontrar todos los lugares que debíamos ver. Sergio también amaba cocinar, especialmente preparar el desayuno, o una de las recetas originales de su madre María. Cada día festivo, incluso si él no estuviera en la ciudad, siempre preparaba sus platos festivos.

Siempre será recordado por su corazón amable y generoso, amor por sus hijos, historias de autobuses salvajes y, sobre todo, su inmenso amor por su familia.
