SHC my favorite (only) brother. We were not together a lot growing up or during his Air Force travels through Europe and Asia. In later years we seldom got together except for funerals and weddings. I regret that. Sherman was a wrench of the first order. He could diagnose any car problem over the phone and recommend a solution. I have pictures of one of his NASCAR wins in New Mexico. We were Marshals, in his boat, at hydroplane races on Lake Mead and had a great Dove hunt in Arizona. FUN TIMES. Sherman served his country with honor and suffered for years as a result of that service. America owes him a debt that will never be paid. I have never met a better man and I miss him greatly.

Sherman was a great big brother and an even greater person. He also was the strongest, kindest man I knew with a wicked sense of humor. After knowing what he went through with his cancer, he inspired me, that I could fight this too. He was always available with great advice and a great laugh as well. I will miss him dearly.

Met him at VFW when i first moved to Las Vegas. Such a nice friendly gentleman. We stayed friends til I moved to Rhode Island. God made him a beautiful soul which is with us in our hearts.

My grandpa was my rock. He was always there when ever I needed him which was a lot. Every time I was going through a rough patch he was always there with a positive attitude and a kind word. I was never judged or made to feel bad when I made a mistake. He was my rock and I love him with all of my heart. He will be missed.

I have a few memories, my fave memory of Sherman would be when he would tell me (more than once) about one time when he babysat me. He said he left me alone just long enuff that I found a bottle of syrup, when he found me in the kitchen I had promptly poured it over my head and was lapping it up as it dripped down my face! He had to try and clean me up before the parents came home! Poor guy!🤗
Another time when he was watching me...he got frustrated and locked me in my room (not 4 long)! Lol! I musta been a lot of trouble, but I did love having an older brother, at least for the short times he was with us!
Many years later when he & Nancy had little baby Christy, our family reconnected with them, and I was so excited to have another neice!
Later on, at times when we were all together, I really enjoyed observing how my Dad, Clifford & Sherman (one time Ken) would and could stay up "just talking" till 2:00 in the morning! I loved that! A real manly meeting of the hearts!❤💞
I just wish there had not been sooo many miles between us in these last years!😢 I know he will be greatly missed!❤

Prayers to Sherman’s family. Please know there is a lot of people from American Legion Post 40, who misses Sherman. Remembered for his excellence in the annual car shows, his upkeep on our pool table and cue sticks and his wonderful smile and soft voice. Always a pleasant man. God Bless and R.I.P.
