

Stanley Glasser passed away peacefully on June 12, 2016. He was born in Newark, New Jersey, on August 1, 1933. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Laura Glasser, and is survived by his grandson, Julian Glasser. Almost all of his working life, Stan was in the retail business. The first store he owned was a dress shop in the Bronx, New York. He went on to work for almost 20 years as a Merchandise Manager for the U.S. Navy Resale System with assignments in New York, California and Rhode Island. He left that position to go back to being a private business owner with a Hallmark Card and Gift Shop in Putnam, Connecticut, and then a jewelry store in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. From there, he spent some time in Fresno, California before moving to Las Vegas in 2005. Up until shortly before his death, he was still selling. For almost 10 years, he had a booth at the Broadacres Swap Meet where he sold various items including hats, gloves, sunglasses , small toys and anything else he thought would be a good buy for his customers. Over the years, he had many regular customers who knew they could always find a bargain at Stanley’s booth! Stan served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Memorial service and interment will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on Thursday, June 30, at 2:00 p.m.
