Steven Joe Bentz

Steven Joe Bentz, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on August 27, 2026, in the loving presence of his entire family. Born on August 28, 1956, in Lima, Ohio, Steve brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered throughout his lifetime.

Steve was the beloved son of Herbert and Rita Bentz, who predeceased him, along with his brother, Ronald Bentz. He leaves behind a cherished legacy through his surviving family members: his devoted wife of 49 years, Deanna Fuson Bentz; his children: Steven (Jessi) Bentz Jr., Michael (Monica) Bentz, and Angela (Joseph) Munoz; and his treasured grandchildren: Joseph Munoz Jr., Matthew Munoz, Kayden Bentz, Bryson Bentz, and Sierra Bentz. Steve is also survived by his sister, Carol Pugh, who shared many cherished memories with him over the years.

A proud alumnus of Lima Senior High School, Steve graduated in 1975 and soon after embarked on a lifelong journey with Deanna, whom he married in 1977. 49 years together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless special moments with their family. For 40 years, Steve was the proud owner of Steve’s Pool Service, where his hard work and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his community.

Steve's life was marked by his love for family gatherings and his zest for life. He was known for his enthusiasm when playing cards with family and friends, and he never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren in their various activities. Whether camping, driving his side-by-side, or cheering on the Rebels and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Steve embraced every adventure with a smile. His playful spirit found a special outlet every Christmas Eve when he joyfully played Santa for his grandchildren.

Steve had a profound love for the Lord and was unwavering in sharing his faith with those around him. His kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In celebration of Steve's life, his family invites those who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating his life.

A celebration of life will be held at “The Well” Church, located at 800 Cadiz Ave. Henderson, NV 89015, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow to remember his warmth and the joy he brought into their lives, in lieu of flowers.

Though he is no longer with us, Steven Joe Bentz’s spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. May we find comfort in the memories we shared and carry forward the love he gave so freely.
