

Sue Shige Potter, born on April 19, 1934, in Okinawa, Japan, passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 91. A resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sue was known for her kind-hearted, generous, patient, humorous, and selfless nature.
Growing up in Okinawa, Sue met her husband, Richard Potter, and they married there in 1960. In 1962, they moved to the United States following the birth of their son, Raymond Potter. Sue dedicated herself to raising her children, and only began working after they were all in school.
When they moved to Las Vegas, she began waitressing at the Hilton, where she remained for 33 years.
Sue was a devoted family woman who loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a passion for food. She was a beacon of strength, known for her warm hugs and comforting presence, and was loved by all who knew her.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Potter, and her sons, Gary Potter and James Potter (Heidi). She is survived by her sister Miyoko (John); children, Raymond Potter (Loranda), Carol Potter, and Betty Fitzgerald (Jay); grandchildren, Shimea Potter (Jessie), Joshua Potter (Payton), Lauren Potter-Olgado (Oliver), Shelbie Fitzgerald, Austin Fitzgerald, Sheyann Fitzgerald, and Tristin Potter; and great-grandchildren, S'morian, Ethan, Olivia, Jaxon, Luna, Noah, and Kelvin.
A visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary - Henderson, located at 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015, on January 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005, at 10:40 am.
Sue's legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by her family and friends forever.
