Most folks would say that Terri was shy until they got to know her. Those who were privileged to know her well learned that she was a solid, good friend. Terri was reluctant to generalize about people, and she based her friendships on her personal experiences. Because of this, Terri best trusted those people that she truly knew. She was concerned about how those around her felt, and she always seemed to uncover the positive side of people. She could relate to others and had the ability to see their point of view, to “walk a mile in their shoes,” as the saying goes. The friends that she made, Terri kept. While growing up, some of her best friends were Helen and Les. Later in life, she became friends with Max, Jesse Lopez, Carol Fink, and Sue.
On June 25, 1968 Terri married the love of her life; Gary Leon Misenhimer, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Centralia, Illinois. Together the couple would share 53 wonderful years together. They were blessed two sons: Chris and Dan. As there family grew; they were also blessed with five grandchildren: Nate, William, Bernadette, Arthur and Patrick.
Terri loved children and being around them. She spent over 20 years working within the school lunch programs. When her family relocated to Nevada in 1998, Terri continued working within the Clark County School District as a school lunch server, until retiring in 2011.
Terry was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palm Springs, for more than 20 years, and St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Nevada for more than 15 years. Family was important to Terri; she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and being involved in their lives. She participated as a cub scout leader, with her children in their youth and other activities that came about through out their lives. Terry also enjoyed her leisure time working on ancestry, working on puzzles, watching football and the Olympics on TV, and taking vacations to Niagara Falls, Illinois, Alabama, and visiting the ocean and beaches. Her family was completed by her fur babies, Skittles and Penny, who were her best friends for Skittles, 15 years and Penny, 2 years; and her dog, Cassie.
