Terry Itokaz Hollis

Terry Itokaz Hollis, age 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Terry was born April 2, 1935 in Okinawa, Japan. Terry lived most of her life in Okinawa, where she completed her education. She relocated to the United States in 1966.

Terry was working as a Cashier on Norton AFB at the NCO club, where Paul was stationed in the U.S. Air Force at the time. He volunteered bar-backing, and running the spotlight for the shows that took place at the NCO Club. The two would meet in February of 1969, fall in love, and were married at the base chapel on Norton AFB on December 27, 1969. With her husband still enlisted, Terry would accompany Paul throughout his career; stationed at Norton AFB in California for 3 years, at Hickam AFB in Hawaii for 3 Years, Hurlburt Field AFB in Florida for 1 Year, and Castle AFB in Merced prior to her husbands retirement in 1984.

Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, Paul would continue working in aerospace, and took a position where he traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for about 18 months. Unable to accompany him on this trip, Terry headed back to Okinawa, Japan to spend a little time with her family. For the next 18 months she would remain in Okinawa, until 1986 when the couple would relocate to Nevada.

The couple enjoyed living in Las Vegas, and the excitement that surrounded the growing city. Terry loved to shop for clothing, and going to shows with her husband Paul. Additionally, the couple had a boat in Washington, where they would often take boating trips; Terry would collect seaweed to process and bring back to Nevada, while her husband enjoyed fishing.

Terry was kind, compassionate and loving. She had a wonderful smile and a heart of gold. She will truly be missed.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul; her sister, Tsuneko; and her niece, Yukari.

Funeral services with graveside will be held Monday, October 19, 2020 beginning at 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
