

Theodore Roosevelt Meachum was the third child born to Deecee and Lillie Mae Meachum on July 16, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. Ted was called home by the Lord Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Ted was enlisted in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947, where he fought for his country in World War II.
Ted was employed at Blum's Department Store in Chicago, where he met Linda Hardison. They were married December 19, 1966. Ted was later employed by the United States Postal Service for over thirty years and retired in 1989. In 1991, Ted and Linda relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Ted obtained a part-time position at the McCarran International Airport. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed very dearly by family and friends. He had a heart of gold that touched the lives of so many he knew.
He is survived by Mrs. Linda Meachum, his lovely wife of forty-four years, his two sons Clarence Hardison, III of Phoenix, AZ, and Arthur Hardison (Bobbie) of Ithaca, NY, four sisters Martha Davis, Addie Blakey, Lula Meachum from Chicago, and Betty Meachum from Las Vegas, NV; one brother Alfred of Staten Island, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his most prized possession, his dog, Miss Topaz.
