Theresa Mestas

Theresa Mestas, age 60, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was born in Española, New Mexico on May 19th, 1960 to Donald and Marcella Madrid. Theresa moved to Henderson, Nevada with her family in 1969. She graduated from Basic High School, where she was involved in various different clubs and activities.

Theresa continued her education at Southern Arizona Bible College where she pursued a degree in education. She worked as an insurance agent for many years before retiring at an early age to be a stay at home mom. On September 15, 1990, Theresa married the love of her life Richard Mestas. On June 1, 1993 she welcomed her daughter, Jennifer, into the world and she became her pride and joy in life.

Theresa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandma, and friend; and a devoted believer in Jesus. She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a life honoring him and others. Theresa grew up attending Neighborhood Church and later in life attended and served at The Encounter Church. She exemplified the life of Christ with how she loved her family and friends. She was the caretaker of everyone in her family and she did it with a smile on her face no matter how tired she was.

Theresa loved life and having fun. Her favorite activities involved fishing, playing cards, painting, crafting, watching hockey and football. She loved yelling at the TV “Go Knights, Go!”; enjoyed cooking, baking, and watching good TV, which included good old hallmark Christmas movies year-round. But, the most important thing in life to her was family. Theresa loved spending time with her family and her cousins and found joy in meeting new family members. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Theresa is survived by her mother, Marcella Madrid; husband, Richard Mestas; daughter, Jennifer Dotto; son, Daniel Mestas; her brothers: Clyde Madrid and Tommy Hinton; and her grandchildren: Danielle, Joey, and Sierra Mestas. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Madrid; sister, Rosalie Madrid; and son-in-law, Ryan Dotto.

A memorial service for Theresa will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Encounter Church Las Vegas, 237 N Stephanie Street, Henderson, NV 89074.
