Adopted by beloved schoolteachers August and Betty Zeitlow, Timothy's early life was rooted in the Weld County School District 6. A unique school policy meant he couldn't be in his mother's elementary school classroom, leading him to Carolyn Oates' class. This classroom held a special connection, as it was also where he would cross paths with Michael and Michelle Goddard, who were unable to be in Ms. Oates' class due to her being their aunt. These early schoolyard connections would blossom into lifelong bonds.
Timothy and the Goddard siblings continued their education together at John Evans Junior High School. Though their paths diverged in high school, Timothy made a significant mark at Greeley West High School as a star athlete. He excelled as the starting quarterback for the school's football team and as a forward for the basketball team. During his time on the court, he had the memorable opportunity to work alongside Tad Boyle, who has since become the esteemed head coach at the University of Colorado.
Following his athletic pursuits, Timothy embarked on a distinguished career as a photojournalist. His keen eye and dedication to storytelling took him to numerous news stations across the country, including in Colorado, Oklahoma, Arizona, Utah, and Kansas. He became particularly well-known for his work with KLAS TV Channel Eight Eyewitness News in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he brought countless events and human experiences to the forefront for the community.
Fate intervened in his personal life when Michelle Goddard encountered Timothy at a store while they were both in college. A simple nudge from Mrs. Zeitlow, who encouraged her son to call Michelle after this chance meeting, sparked a romance that would define the rest of their lives. Timothy and Michelle began dating, and their love story culminated in their marriage on February 12th, 1989, in the scenic town of Estes Park, Colorado.
Tim loved his wife and family with a gregarious heart that never ceased. Together, he and Michelle raised three beautiful children: Zachary (35), Timothy James (34), and Zara (32). He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Julius (8).
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, August and Betty Zeitlow, as well as numerous other relatives. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his children, Zachary, Timothy James, and Zara; his grandson, Julius; his brother, Dan Zeitlow; and his nephew and niece, Daniel and Jessica.
Timothy will be remembered for his athletic prowess, his impactful career as a photojournalist spanning several states, his immense love for his family, his warm heart, and the enduring love he shared with his wife, Michelle. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and were touched by his work.
