It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Violet Rachel Montgomery on June 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on July 13, 1941, in the sunlit fields of California, Violet was a beacon of light and love to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
The daughter of Mark Thompson and Rosalie Frijo, Violet grew up embracing the warmth and compassion that she later shared so freely with others. On February 26, 1960, she married the love of her life, Leroy Thomas Montgomery, also in California. Together, they embarked on a 55-year journey filled with love, laughter, and the nurturing of their four beautiful daughters: Penny, Debbie, Brenda, and Helen. Through their tireless dedication, Violet and Leroy cultivated a family environment that was as joyous as it was loving.
Violet was known for her quick wit and infectious smile. She had a remarkable talent for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to her kindness and generosity that touched countless lives. Whether it was spending time with family by the pool, playing games, dancing, gambling or enjoying a Corona, Violet was always the life of the party. She had a adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Her legacy continues through her daughters, her 15 beloved grandchildren, her 27 great-grandchildren, and her 7 great great grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her values of love, unity, and joy. Her family will forever hold her dear in their hearts, remembering the many moments they shared with her.
Violet is predeceased by her loving parents and will be joyfully reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. She leaves behind a family and community that are better for having known her.
A service to honor Violet’s remarkable life will be held on June 18, 2026, at 9:20 AM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, NV 89005. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
As we say see you later, we carry Violet with us always in our hearts. Every moment we shared is a precious memory we hold close. May she rest in peace, knowing how deeply she was loved.
So, momma, go soar high on wings like eagles till we meet again. [Isaiah 40:31]
