

Born on August 3, 1935, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, she married John D. Bustamante in 1970 and moved to Henderson. She and her husband created a tight-knit family, and she was a dedicated housewife. She filled their warm, welcoming home with laughter, love, cherished traditions, and the comforting smells of a vibrant kitchen. Friends and family members looked forward to her delicious tamales and other treats during the holidays and throughout the year. She lived a prayerful life and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, gift giving, and reminiscing in the company of friends and family. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Szydelko (Paul) of Henderson; son Edward Bustamante (Heidi) of Rancho Cucamonga, California; son Gerald Bustamante (Kelley) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Julia and Erika Szydelko, and Gabriel, Nevaeh, Mia, Tyler, and Alexis Bustamante; sister Leticia Marueño (Lorenzo) of Hermosillo; and many other beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson. Palm Mortuary, Henderson, arranged cremation and inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
