

In the gentle embrace of eternity, Dilsia Arauz Rivero, born on February 23, 1939, in Chiriquí, Panamá, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2022, at the age of 82, following her valiant battle with heart issues. Throughout her remarkable life, she embodied boundless love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her beloved family.
In her quest for new horizons, she ventured to the vibrant city of San Francisco, CA, before finding solace in the welcoming embrace of Miami, FL. It was there that she nurtured a loving and supportive home, an anchor that provided a solid foundation for her family's growth. Together with her former husband, Orlando Rivero Sr., they achieved the embodiment of the “American Dream,” establishing several Latin Supermarkets, including the cherished Carol City Supermarket and El Dorado Supermarket.
Following this period, Dilsia continued to devote herself wholeheartedly to raising her two sons. Despite the challenges of being a single parent in Hialeah, FL she placed great importance on education in the lives of her children. she consistently emphasized its transformative power. As a testament to her guidance, her sons and grandchildren have forged remarkable paths of success in their respective fields.
Throughout her professional journey, Dilsia contributed her skills and dedication within the administrative office of Florida Beverage Corporation; eventually finding her well-deserved retirement from Bank of America, formerly known as Barnett Bank, in 2005. In her later years, she found solace, joy, and unconditional love in the cherished presence of her son, Orlando, her daughter-in-law, Arlene Rivero, and her beloved grandchildren. Together, they created treasured memories, celebrating special occasions and cherishing the warmth of family gatherings.
Dilsia is survived by her devoted sons, Orlando Rivero, DBA, EdD; Alexis Rivero, JD, her daughter-in-laws, Arlene Rivero CPA, MAcc; Odette Rivero, and her grandchildren Orlando Jaime Rivero, MBS; Patricia Lynn Rivero, MBA; Christopher Rivero. She is also survived by her extended family living in Tampa, FL and Panamá.
Her family will forever hold her memory dear by carrying forward her infinite love, wise guidance, and unwavering commitment to family and education. Dilsia's enduring legacy will continue to illuminate the path for generations; forever inspiring them to embrace love, compassion, and the pursuit of knowledge.
