Reynaldo Ulises Cerpas, 64, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by his wife and two children. He was born on January 20, 1962, in Masatepe, Nicaragua, and lived a life marked by faith, love, curiosity, hard work, and deep devotion to his family.
Reynaldo was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and man of deep faith. He believed in God and loved Him wholeheartedly. In his messages, he often signed off with the words “God Bless” or “God First,” a reflection of the faith, hope, and love that guided his life. To his children, his messages often carried another tender sign-off: “Love you, Dad,” a simple phrase that will remain deeply cherished.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Yadira; his son, Ulises; his daughter, Virginia; his four grandchildren, Maylee, Ulises Jr., Maleena, and Matilda; and his beloved pet cockatiel, Conchi, all of whom he loved dearly.
Reynaldo dedicated his career to his work as an aviation surveillance inspector, a profession he truly loved and took great pride in. He was known by his coworkers as meticulous, knowledgeable, and highly dedicated. He valued excellence in everything he did and served as a mentor to many, always willing to share his knowledge and help others grow.
Outside of work, Reynaldo was a man of many passions and talents. He loved cooking for his family, reading, learning new things, gardening, dancing, listening to music, nature, and history. He and his wife, Yadira, enjoyed working on DIY projects together, always finding ways to improve and care for their home. He had a lifelong love of words and enjoyed looking up their meanings in his dictionary. He spoke English, Spanish, and Russian, a reflection of his intelligence, curiosity, and love of learning.
Reynaldo found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel with his wife on the weekends, where he especially loved sitting outside in the rocking chairs and watching the world around him. At home, he enjoyed watching TV cuddled up in his favorite fleece blanket and spending time outside on his patio. He loved bright colors, especially orange, his favorite color, and often enjoyed dressing nicely and clean-shaven, wearing either a bright-colored shirt or his favorite fleece long sleeve.
He loved eating fruit, enjoying Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and drinking sparkling water. He loved family barbecues, showering in the rain, and spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. He also enjoyed Westerns, crime dramas, watching National Geographic, and following the World Cup, which he looked forward to every four years. These simple joys reflected his love for family, stories, history, nature, and learning.
Those who knew Reynaldo will remember him for his intelligence, humor, faith, and caring heart. He was friendly, respectful, meticulous, thoughtful, and generous, with a quiet depth and a warmth that touched those closest to him. He had a gift for bringing laughter into everyday moments, especially through the jokes and stories he shared with his family. Reynaldo loved deeply and found joy in giving to others. He showed his care in meaningful ways — through his wisdom, his work, the meals he cooked, and the many thoughtful ways he cared for his family.
Reynaldo’s life was filled with faith, curiosity, hard work, laughter, generosity, and love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
