Alice Carol Adams

Alice “Carol” Cartwright Adams, 70 of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18th, 2024.

Born on November 24th, 1953, in Mecklenburg County, NC, Carol was the daughter of the late James Lloyd and Alice Mae Alexander Cartwright. She graduated from Jacksonville University, where she pursued her love for music and excelled as a concert pianist. Carol retired as the music director at Highland United Methodist, where she shared her passion for music and touched countless lives.

Carol was also a great lover of animals and a true chocolate enthusiast, known for her warm spirit and quick wit. She was deeply loved by her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim who was the love of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughter, Ashley (Casey); her sons, Chris and Josh (Miriah); her sisters, Linda Young (Mark), Dianne Jackson; her nephews, Colby Young and Hunter Jackson; her nieces, Lauren Sweet and Morgan Jackson and her special granddaughter, Kaydence.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Highland United Methodist Church on Monday, December 9th, 2024 at 1:00 pm where the family will receive friends with service to follow at 1:30 pm.

A Graveside Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park immediately following the church service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland United Methodist Church or the Humane Society in Carol’s name.
