Ana Duca

Hickory– Mrs. Ana Duca, 80, of Oradea, Romania passed away suddenly, Friday, April 15, 2011 at Carolina’s Medical Center, Lincoln County, North Carolina. She was currently staying with her daughter and son in law Becky and John Mich.

Ana was born June 12, 1931 to the late Iosif and Maria Buzlea Ficut in Balaia, Romania. She was preceded in death by her husband Iosif Duca an infant brother, a sister and a granddaughter.

Ana is survived by her two daughters, Maria Tiplea and her husband Vasile, of Romania, Raveica “Becky” Mich and husband John of Hickory, North Carolina, a son Aron Gavril Duca and his wife Felicia of Naperville, Illinois, twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Romanian Baptist Church – Hickory with Reverend Ioan Urs officiating. Internment will follow at Brookford City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 19 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday in the Hickory Funeral Home Chapel.

Due to the Romanian tradition to show respect to the dead there will be mourning with the family from Monday April 18th at 12:00 PM till April 22, 2011 at Romanian Baptist Church.
