ANDREW DONALD BALL CONNELLY SPRINGS – Andrew Donald Ball, 77, of Connelly Springs went home to be with his Lord on November 14, 2014. Born on September 13, 1937 in Yancey County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Nell Ball. Donald was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and although retired, continued to work with Shekinah Food Ministry and Meals on Wheels. He was widely known for his ability to fix almost anything. Donald was an avid gardener and beekeeper. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Opha Honeycutt Ball of Connelly Springs, sons, David Ball and wife Robin of Connelly Springs, Tim Ball and wife Barbara of Valdese; grandchildren, Allison Finch and husband Matt of Connelly Springs, Braxton Greene of Valdese, Hannah Lowman Downs and Robbie Lowman of Lenoir; siblings, Wilma Jean Ball of Burnsville, Niles Ball and wife Susan of Burnsville, Ricky Turner and wife Karen of Burnsville; and a very special aunt, Verlyn White of Gloucester, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 7 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Connelly Springs with Rev. Darrell Webb and Dr. Bob Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:30 -7 PM at the church. The burial will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10 am at Catawba Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shekinah Food Ministry or Oak Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund in care of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 7449 Oak Ridge Church Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612 or Gideons International, 311 S.
