Ann Bowman McCall

HICKORY Ann Bowman McCall, 66, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence after a period of declining health. Ann was born Feb. 26, 1948 in Catawba County, to the late Carl Howard Bowman and Margretta Faye Bollinger Bowman. Ann was retired, having worked for Steele Rulane Gas Co., and at Woodlawn Child Development Center, where she retired. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She liked NASCAR, Duke basketball, and loved Elvis. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert Ervin "Bob" McCall. Surviving are her sons, Robbie McCall of Vale and Brian McCall and wife, Christin of Hickory; grandson, Jaycob Bortz; granddaughters, Karleigh McCall and Lexie McCall; brothers-in-law, Marshall McCall and wife, Susan of Morganton and Harvey McCall and wife, Charlene of Glen Alpine. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 17, from 1 to 2:45 p.m., at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Services will be Tuesday, at 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Yount officiating.
